Ad Type And Size

Visibility always matters when it comes to displaying Ads. You will find lot of clients ready to pay more for bigger banners than smaller ones. The reason being more visibility can get in more visitors or more clicks thus more money. You will also find recommended Ad type when you try to create a new Ad in your Google Adsense Account.

So always select a banner which can grab your visitors attraction for more clicks.

Placement of Ads

Ad size and placement are the two major factors which decides your Adsense success. You might heard about Adsense Heat Map which shows the right placement which can get in most clicks. As per the map Ads placed near and within the content gets most click. It also shows that ads placed on top of the page grabs more attention than the ads placed at the bottom.

Select bigger banners and try to place it on top (Header Banner, Top Right/left banner within the content, Banner in the middle of the content)

Number of Google Adsense Ad Units

This is something which most of the bloggers seems to miss. I was not aware of this too but an Adsense executive helped me in setting this up. You can place a maximum of three banner ads, three link units and one search unit.

• 3 Link Units (Text links formatted the way we need)
• 1 Search Unit (Google Search Unit)
• So do ensure that you have the above number of ads on your blog. Also place these ads to get maximum visibility thus more clicks.

Type of Ads

Google offer Text and Media Ads; so you can select either of them or can select both. I would always select an option to display both.

Type of Traffic

If you have fulfilled all the above criteria; it is now time to drive traffic towards your blog. Without traffic you won’t be able to make any money from Adsense. Google Adsense is all about organic traffic as the ad appears based on the keyword used for searching. If your blog generates lot of traffic from social networks and less traffic from Google search then you might experience very few clicks.
So you will have to do a proper research on keywords to generate more organic traffic. Always select a keyword with less competition, more volume and higher CPC.
